What should I wear? On any given Sunday morning, you will see some people wearing a dress or a suit and others wearing khakis or jeans and neither feels out of place. We believe the Lord desires us to dress modestly, but this doesn’t require a suit…and the Pastor doesn’t wear one.
What is the music like? The music at Gate City is an intentional blend of music styles. On any given Sunday, we will sing new songs that you might have heard on Christian radio as well as hymns that have been around for generations. We have a praise team that leads the congregational worship and an adult choir that sings each Sunday morning. The goal is to lead the entire congregation to honor the Lord through their worship and to accomplish that we believe it involves appealing to a variety of musical preferences.
Are there people at Gate City my age? You will find the entire spectrum of ages from birth to 90+ year-olds. We believe that healthy families have multiple generations that make them up and the same should be true of the church.
Where do I go when I visit? As you enter the parking lot, you will see signs that direct you to our guest parking area near the church’s main entrance. As you enter the building, you will find a greeter who will guide you to the Welcome Center and give you a welcome pack. In addition to some gifts and brochures, the most important piece of information inside is a welcome booklet. It is like a “survival guide” for guests and will provide you with a lot of basic information. If you would like to download a copy, click here. If you have children who need to go to the nursery, one of our greeters or ushers will be happy to guide you to that part of the building and help you register your child(ren).
