SUNDAY SCHOOL 9:15AM WORSHIP 10:30AM

Perform a Checkup

Checkups are an important and routine part of life. The state requires them yearly on our vehicles. Before we buy a house, we get it inspected. And many of us get an annual physical. Why? Because we want to know where we stand, how we can improve, and perhaps most importantly, catch something before it becomes a much bigger problem. We do this in nearly every area of our lives, and our walk with Christ should be no exception. Below are four vital signs that you can check to see how you may be doing spiritually and how you can grow from where you are now.

Am I....

Biblically Grounded

2 Timothy 4:3 speaks of a time when people will reject the truth of the Bible for myths that bolster their sinful desires. As Christ followers, we must reject this temptation and remain firm in God’s word. Do you have a sense of how Biblically grounded you may be?

Gospel Centered

Is the gospel central to everything you do? In 1 Corinthians 2:2, Paul told the church at Corinth that he was determine to know nothing among them except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. What does it take to live this way, and are you currently doing so?

Meaningfully Related

We all have habits. Hebrews 10:25 tells us that some people habitually stay away from the church. Perhaps, you are in the habit of coming. But does that mean you’re meaningfully related to those around you? And what does being meaningfully related even mean?

Prayerfully Focused

Whether it’s on social media or in person with those around us, we all like to show off our strengths a little. But 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 tells us that we’re most strong when we are weak and depending on Jesus in prayer. Who are you depending on: Jesus or yourself?
