You Belong at Gate City...

Gate City is a church made up of people of different ages, races, and stages of life. We do not all share the same education, economic status, or family lineage. What brings us together however is a shared commitment to Jesus. That shared relationship makes us more than a collection, or group of people, or even a church, but a church family. You belong at Gate City.

Plan Your Visit

Here you will discover a warm group of real people dedicated to following our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Come join us for Sunday School at 9:15 am and Worship at 10:30 am.

What to Expect

As you enter the parking lot, you will see signs that direct you to our guest parking area near the church’s main entrance.

Our Sunday School classes provide an excellent opportunity for people to be part of a small group and develop a real sense of belonging. Our classes are age-graded, nursery through adults. To help you find the right class, we have greeters at the various entrances of the building who will be more than happy to direct you.

Our morning worship service begins at 10:30 AM and our services typically last an hour. This includes a time of prayer, worship, and preaching.

We have a gracious staff of volunteers that provide child care during the worship service for children birth through age 5. We provide age graded child care to ensure that the needs of children are adequately taken care of. In addition, we provide parents with a pager in the event that they need to be reached during the worship service. All volunteers and staff working with children and youth have passed a background check.

In addition to an age-graded Sunday School ministry, we offer KidzLife which meets in conjunction with the morning worship service. KidzLife is available for children grades K-5 and it typically meets on the first, second and fourth Sundays of the month. Children are dismissed to KidzLife from the sanctuary when the choir is dismissed.

What should I wear? On any given Sunday morning, you will see some people wearing a dress or a suit and others wearing khakis or jeans and neither feels out of place. We believe the Lord desires us to dress modestly, but this doesn’t require a suit…and the Pastor doesn’t wear one.

What is the music like? The music at Gate City is an intentional blend of music styles. On any given Sunday, we will sing new songs that you might have heard on Christian radio as well as hymns that have been around for generations. We have a praise team that leads the congregational worship and an adult choir that sings each Sunday morning. The goal is to lead the entire congregation to honor the Lord through their worship and to accomplish that we believe it involves appealing to a variety of musical preferences.

Are there people at Gate City my age? You will find the entire spectrum of ages from birth to 90+ year-olds. We believe that healthy families have multiple generations that make them up and the same should be true of the church.

Where do I go when I visit? As you enter the parking lot, you will see signs that direct you to our guest parking area near the church’s main entrance. As you enter the building, you will find a greeter who will guide you to the Welcome Center and give you a welcome pack. In addition to some gifts and brochures, the most important piece of information inside is a welcome booklet. It is like a “survival guide” for guests and will provide you with a lot of basic information. If you would like to download a copy, click here. If you have children who need to go to the nursery, one of our greeters or ushers will be happy to guide you to that part of the building and help you register your child(ren).
